It seems the people who preach tolerance the loudest are the most intolerant people of all.

Republicans have been in charge of state government, the Legislature and Governor’s Office, for 2 years out of the last 100. Bitter doesn’t even begin to describe the tone of News and Observer editorial page Editor Ned Barnett who writes ‚ÄúSometimes it feels as if North Carolina is not so much being governed by conservative Republicans as being occupied by them.”

Apparently, winners of a free election are now the equivalent of a foreign army.

We’ve blogged numerous times how jobs are growing faster here than the national average. Mr. Barnett can’t admit something’s going well under the evil Republicans. So now he’s lamenting a declining labor force. That’s a national trend driven by demographics on one hand and the soft hammock of the welfare state on the other.

ObamaCare is one example. According to the Congressional Budget Office, ObamaCare will encourage a work hours reduction equal to 2 million jobs as workers find higher benefits more valuable than work.

So Mr. Barnett can look in the mirror to find a cheer leader for policies that promote declining labor force participation.
